Africa By The Bay was founded in 1990, under the vision of Mr. Cheikh Diakhate. He consolidated his dream of trade shows, importing and selling authentic wares, and promoting cultural and educational awareness of the African continent in America. Africa By The Bay has since grown into a well-established retail and wholesale enterprise, with its office in the heart of the Laurel Shopping District in Oakland, California. We carry one of the finest selection of African textiles, including Dogon mud cloth, Egyptian hand-woven tapestries, batiks, Rabals from Eastern and Western Africa, Kente Cloth from Ghana, Korogoh from Ivory Coast, and much more.
